Pink or Blue... What team are we on?

Tea Parties... Dolls... Pink Dresses... Polka Dots & Bows...

That's what we have ahead of us and we just can't wait. Its funny, after my husband and I left the Ultrasound he turned to me in the car and said "I don't feel surprised, its funny how in our hearts we knew she was a little girl!". It was so true. I knew from day one she was a wee baby girl and my feeling shifted over to Sammy over the first few months. We both deep down were planning for a girl - however we couldn't actually make any official plans until we saw her at our detailed Ultrasound.

And now... its time to decorate! The babies room is our top priority which means off to the vintage stores I go, I'm going to need as many Tea Cups as I can get my little hands on. The Alice in Wonderland Forest wouldn't be complete without them.  If you know me from my other Blog {www.lahteadah.blogspot.com} you will know how in love I am with Tea let along Alice in Wonderland Tea Parties {proof here}!

Tell me, are you choosing to find out what team babies playing on? Pink or Blue? Or are you staying old skool and waiting until the doctor yells "it's a..."?

Walking your way through Pregnancy

After coming home from the Doctors and being told to "lay off the carbs" I began to think its about time I get my ass out of my bunny slippers and into my Reeboks. Bringing me to the next dilemma on what would I wear since all my gear for the gym would no way in heck fit this 19 week chub we created! And I totally mean "we" because my husband cooks all the meals in the house during the weeks since I get home 2 hours after him! So damn it....it takes 2 to tango my friend!

Finding comfort in an extra large pair of yoga pants with a fold over band - stayed folded up for obvious reasons... off to the lake we went.

About 3 blocks away from my Home we have a man-made Lake which we have never been to before. I'd like to start this next point with saying I just moved into this Home - however that would be a full-blown lie. Ive been there going on 2 years...sad I know! The Lake has a trail around the entire thing totaling 1 km,  its perfect for an evening stroll after dinner. Not only stopping me from snacking, but allowing my shows to be PVR'd while I was gone so commercials are a thing of the past when I watch them.  A total Win-Win situation I'd say!

{Como Lake - a man made lake, 1km in circumference}

Doing some more research on while walking while pregnant is a good thing, beyond the obvious, here is what I found:

* Walking throughout pregnancy ensures that your body keeps up a level of health and fitness, making it easier to lose those pregnancy pounds after delivery.

* Walking eases constipation, along with aches and pains, helping you to sleep better at night.

* Keeping up your fitness will also improve your endurance during labor.

I don't know about you, but those 3 points alone will ensure that I have more walks around the Lake and less walks to and from the Pantry.... Not only is it the best thing you can do for you and your baby {staying fit} but I feel that it will be the best thing for my emotions after baby arrives. Keep positive, stay Healthy and live an active Lifestyle. I know that come Summer of 2012 Ill be back into my Teenie Weenie Yellow Bikini again... I just know it!

Why Charlie Sheen shouldn't have Kids...

The Top 10 Quotes from Mr. Sheen:

1) “It’s just strafing runs in my underwear before my first cup of coffee, because I don’t have time for these clowns.”
2) "I will out live you! I will piss you off!
3) “Wow.  What does that mean? I’m bi-WINNING.”
4) "I was banging seven-gram rocks, because that’s how I roll.  I have one speed, I have one gear: Go."
5) "I am on a drug, it's called Charlie Sheen. It's not available because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."
6) "I have a disease? Bullsh**! I cured it with my brain, with my mind...this bootleg cult arrogantly referred to as Alcoholics Anonymous supports a 5% success rate. My success is 100%."
7) "I’m tired of pretending I’m not a total bitchin’ rock star from Mars."
8) "The Goddesses? Let me just say this about The Goddesses...I don't believe the term is good enough, but when you're bound by terrestrial descriptions, you must use the best choice available."
9) “Winning, anyone? Rhymes with winning. Anyone? Yeah, that would be us. Sorry, man, didn’t make the rules. Oops!”
10) “You have the right to kill me, but you do not have the right to judge me. Boom. That’s the whole movie. That’s life.”

Need I say more? Take his kids away... far far away - you can tell them their Daddy went on a farm to live.

Snoogle Total Body Pillow Review

{Snoogle Total Body Pillow

Not only is this a must for pregnancy aches and pains, but its beyond sexy. Women, watch out, your going to have to hold your husband back from jumping on you like Charlie Sheen on every prostitute and her dog. This pillow with help put your restless nights to sleep, however it will also put a huge wall between you and your spooning husband...whether this is a good thing or a bad is entirely up to you.

My husband and I made the decision to to buy this pillow in the first month of my pregnancy, for the simple fact that I couldn't sleep, and if I can't sleep - nobody can. Once doing research on what pillow to buy, we can across many options all which claim to be "the best".  After reading review, after review after review, I came to the assumption that I wanted the most expensive one..... Why? Because I said so!

After tracking it down at our local Babies R' Us, we instantly ran to our bank to get approved for our loan. To our surprise they don't do loan's on material stuffed with cotton... Go Figure! These Pillows are expensive, but they are worth every red cent! We purchased ours for just under $100 however I am sure it will vary from city to city and country to country.

{Leachco Snoogle Chic Cover - Taupe | $29.95 CDN at Babies R' Us}

Also if your name ends in Bags and starts with Money, and spending a $100 on a Pillow hasn't put you in a state of shock yet, then you can personalize it with a new "chic" pillow case for an additional $20 to $40 {depending on its design}.

As much as I like to make jokes about the cost or beauty of its cock-blocking way in all honestly this has been life saving in my house. I would not have made it through these 5 months as gracefully as I have, and thats a fact! Thank you Snoogle - for making my husbands life less like Ricco the dreamy Massage Therapist and more like Sammy the hard working, dinner cooking, hockey watching man I have love.

The Snoogle Total Body Pillow no doubt gets a "Mommy Award". Thanks to Leachco, my nights are filled with Sugarplums Dancing and about 2 "pee" runs that I can't seem to avoid. If you are in need of some relief of Pregnancy aches and pains - I highly recommend the Leachco Snoogle Total Body Pillow.

Sneak Peek: Mariah Carey's Jungle Nursery

I can't say I've ever really been a fan of Mariah Carey, from song choices to her horrible acting skills I just can't seem to appreciate her, however I can say that I am a fan of her Twins Nursery.

Mariah Carey, 42 years old, is due May 14th with Twins {a boy and girl}. She has designed the room saying that 'I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies'. The room is trimmed with her signature motif - butterflies - as well as stuffed-animals, including a lamb and a huge giraffe, which was a gift from Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

I think that all Celebrity Nurseries I take inspiration from, Not saying that I could even afford the thread used for the bed sheets in any of these rooms. Let's be honest, celebrities have a little more in their budget thank most when it comes to designing their babies bedrooms.

Mariah called decorator Mario Buatta and AFK Furniture's Gail Sedigh to help transform the room. 'I feel like I’m bringing two individuals into the world, so I wanted to do more than cookie-cutter styles in blue and pink.'

Mariah states she has also turned to her own music for inspiration. Oh Great! Lets hope its nothing from her GLITTER Soundtrack..... 'The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favourites: Underneath the Stars and Close My Eyes,' she reveals.

All in all I can appreciate the design she has created with Decorators Mario and Gail. From the Soft Creams, Greens and Pinks to the Darling Furniture and Birdcage-style Lighting. I think this room took me off guard coming from Mariah Carey, however very happy to see she opted for a subtle, sweet look than what we normally see from her which is Loud and Proud.

This says nothing on the other-hand for their living room, that apparently boasts a nude picture of her and Nick taken during their pregnancy. Yes, Mariah! and I am certain that all guests coming to your house can't wait to sit in your Living Room and feel extremely uncomfortable as they try and avoid eye contact with your headlights.

Surface Inspired Wall Decals {ETSY} Review

My husband and I have been working on home renovations now since we moved into our new home on May 2009. From Painting to Removing Walls, to Kitchen Demolitions, to Bathroom Overhauls and Deck Removals it seems to be a never ending "to do" list. However I am happy to announce that they are coming to a close with just a few small last details. Our entire upstairs has been remodeled and its just peachy!

We attacked the Babies Room a few weekends ago with Baseboards, Trim and Wall Decals...which If what I am here to share. We purchased Tree Wall Decals from a ETSY Seller about 9 months ago and used them for our Bathroom Renovation. We had in mind that we would also use the Trees in the Main room to fill up a blank wall that required some sprucing {if you will}. However upon finding out we were pregnant we both decided we wants to use the balance of Trees we had for his/her room. Transforming the forest into a Alice in Wonderland Theme for a little girl or an Enchanted Forest for a boy.

So my husband and I tackled  this "wee' project and I put together a review for you. Including fun pictures and all. The Decals were purchased from Surface Inspired Baby Nursery Wall Decals on ETSY, I delt with the most kind man ever, Thomas who helped with creating a special listing for us to ensure we got enough Tree's that we designed at his best possible price. We purchased 2 set's of 6 - Winter Trees Vinyl Wall Art Decals  for about $150 plus shipping. After recieving the order we were excited to get started. With all the instruction on paper in the package and a link to watch an online instructional video it was dummy-proof which is what we were hoping for.

I won't lie upon opening the box, we were very worried that this was going to be a task that we would, could, should never complete - however with the Bathroom done in an hour and the Babies Room about that same time, we really couldn't be more happier with the outcome.

Cutting the Tree Stumps out and them all the Branches we found to be the easiest route to take. Once they were all out I spread them out into piles, Tree Stumps, Long Branches, Short Branches and Busy Branches {with 2 or 3 branches breaking off of 1}. Starting with the stump or Tree center if you will we figure out where we wanted the placement. Once they were up on the wall we brought the branches in and started to play. we would temporarily tape them on with some painters tape to ensure the tree looked natural yet still considering my eye for symmetric placement. Once I was happy, up they went, branch by branch.

Sammy and I are so extremely happy with the finished product and can't wait to either spruce the room up with Tea Cups and Lace or Owls and Foxes. This day wont come until the Babies sex has been confirmed which isn't until the end of this month.

The Surface Inspired Wall Decals defiantly get a "Mommy Award" for not only its Quality and Cost, but is brilliance in changing a room from good to grand! It also should get an award for making my husband spend a total of 2 hours listening to me try and perfect the branch placement in making it look natural yet symmetric. I'm pretty sure thats an oxymoron. No?

Can I get a.... KICK KICK?!

{19 Weeks}

What can I do to get my little baby to kick. I've tried poking, tickling and even jumping on the trampoline {only kidding on the last one}.... I just can't seem to get a kick out of him/her. I want my husband so badly to feel more apart of this pregnancy and think this will be the answer, but as far as baby is concerned she is just peachy being a goody-to-shoes and not kicking mommy where it counts.

I am only 19 weeks, and the doctor said its fairly normal to not feel anything up to this point, however I should be soon. I have also been told that since this is my first, baby may be a rockin' and a rollin' but I may mistake it for a gas bubble. I have been paying very close attention these days to all rumbles and bubbles in my belly, still however I'm not convinced Ive felt anything baby related thus far.

I just cannot wait for the first real kicks where Sammy and I can widen our eyes and drop our chins to the floor... I have a feeling it will be just as epic as seeing the double lines after peeing on the stick!

PS: on a side note...I saw this photo and can figure out of this is photo-shoped or not, sorta creeps me out. Can anyone shed some light - can this actually happen?
